Dr. Jean Hager, Doctorate in Clinical Social Work (DSW), Rutgers University; Masters in Social Work (MSW), Rutgers University; and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Monmouth University, has more than 40 years of experience as a psychotherapist/clinical social worker in a wide range of issues, particularly alcohol and drug addiction, and co-occurring mental health disorders. Dr. Jean Hager also treats other compulsive disorders, anxiety/mood disorders, grief and loss issues, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

At her active private practice in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, founded in 1988, Dr. Jean Hager offers individual, couples, family, and group therapy, as well as assessment and interventions.
Philanthropy and Community Involvement
Dr. Jean Hager currently serves on the Executive Board of Stephy's Place, a support center for grief and loss. She has been a volunteer group facilitator and a member of the Advisory Board of Stephy's Place since 2018. In Dr. Jean Hager's philanthropic roles, she has also served as Executive Board Treasurer and Executive Board of Trustees for the Purr'n Pooch Foundation for Animals from 2009-2010, and was on the Executive Board of Trustees for the Monmouth County SPCA from 2008-2009. She has been a volunteer and has chaired capital campaigns and many fundraising events for non-profit charities since 2005.

Ten years prior to opening her private practice, Dr. Jean Hager had held numerous positions in the field of mental health and addiction. Among her many professional accomplishments, Dr. Jean Hager is certified as a New Jersey Licensed Clinical Social Worker, New Jersey Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Academy of Certified Social Workers, and New Jersey Certified School Social Worker; a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW); and a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Her training includes intensive courses in addiction, advanced trauma training, hypnosis, Brainspotting, family systems therapy, and couples therapy.
